Vets Based in Breadstone
Ian Camm BVSc CertEP MRCVS. Ian qualified from Liverpool in 1981 After qualification Ian spent time working in Thornbury and later he worked for a large equine practice in Lichfield. Ian returned to Gloucestershire and founded Bushy Equine Clinic in 1986. The growth of the practice reflects Ian’s expertise and reputation. He is highly regarded by other equine vets and has recently been President of the British Equine Veterinary Association. Ian was one of the first vets to pass the RCVS Certificate in Equine Practice, a professional qualification that covers all aspects of equine work.
Chris Wright BVSc CertVR CertEM(Int.Med) MRCVS. Chris qualified from Bristol in 1991 and spent six years in mixed practice before returning to the University of Bristol as resident in equine studies. Chris holds the RCVS certificates in veterinary radiology and in equine internal medicine. Chris joined Bushy equine vets in 2002 where his main interests are internal medicine and colic surgery.
Alex Wood BVetMed MRCVS. Alex qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2005. She joined Bushy in 2006 after working in mixed practice in Gloucester. Alex grew up locally and was a member of the Berkeley Hunt Pony Club and Frampton Riding Club. Alex enjoys all aspect of. equine work and is responsible for the inpatients at the clinic. She is enroled in the RCVS certificate in anaesthesia and intensive care.
Deirdre Baird BSVc MRCVS Deirdre graduated from Bristol and worked in mixed practice for a year before completing a hospital internship at Rossdale’s in Newmarket. She then worked here for a year as part of our ambulatory team. After a further two years as an equine locum Deirdre joined the Jockey Club as a Veterinary Officer. Deirdre is a member of our ambulatory team with a particular interest in anaesthesia
Mark Patteson MA VetMB PhD DVC CertVR MRCVS. Mark qualified from Cambridge in 1986. Following graduation Mark worked at Bristol Veterinary School working with referral internal medicine and cardiology cases. Mark joined Bushy equine vets in 1996. Mark is an RCVS recognised Specialist in Cardiology and has an international reputation and receives referrals from all over the UK. Much of his time is now spent with his referrals and with teaching students.
Emma Travis BVSc MRCVS. Emma qualified from Bristol in 2003. After qualifying Emma spent 3 years working in Equine practice in Essex. Emma returned to Gloucestershire after having her son Archie and joined Bushy as a part time member of the team. Emma has her own horse and enjoys show jumping.

Lee Paul BSc BVM&S Cert EP MRCVS. Lee qualified from the Royal “Dick” Veterinary College Edinburgh in 2002. Following graduation he worked in mixed practice in Wales as a mainly equine clinician, during which time he obtained his certificate in Equine practice. In Mid 2007, Lee joined Bushy Equine Vets where his principle interests include general practice along with all aspects of internal and stud medicine.
Becky Jones BVSc DVDI MRCVS. Becky qualified from Bristol in 1996. She spent 3.5 years in mixed practice before going to The Royal Veterinary College to do a 3 year residency in Equine Diagnostic imaging. She has been in private equine practice since then and joined Bushy Vets in 2007. Becky holds the Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and her professional interests include all aspects of diagnostic imaging, lameness investigations and colic work ups. Outside of work Becky enjoys running, cycling, swimming, sailing and walking her dogs.

Scott Milnes BVSc Cert EP MRCVS. Scott qualified from Bristol in 1991 and spent six years in mixed practice before joining Bushy Equine Clinic. Scott holds the RCVS certificate in equine practice and has examined in this subject for a number of years. Scott’s professional interests include lameness evaluation and surgery.
Duncan Ballard BVM&S CertEP MRCVS. Duncan has worked in a number of equine practices from London to Yorkshire. Duncan joined us in 2006 from the Royal Veterinary College where he was responsible for development of the first opinion equine practice. His professional interests include lameness evaluation and dermatology. Away from work Duncan enjoys golf, sailing and squash.
Phil Richards BVM&S MRCVS. Phil graduated from the Royal College in Edinburgh in 1997 and spent 5 years moving between farm and equine jobs, a point-to-point yard and travelling, before joining Bushy’s team at Failand in 2002. She enjoys most aspects of equine work but in particular emergencies involving the fire Brigade or police! Outside of work she enjoys fell running, cycling and swimming and often has an Ironman or ultramarathon on the horizon to stop her getting lazy!
Sam Williams MA VetMB MRCVS. Sam graduated from Cambridge in 2002, initially working in mixed practice and then equine practice in Devon and Dorset. She joined Bushy in March 2008, coming from an equine and small animal practice in her home town of Newbury. Sam attempts to compete two event horses around work but only one is ever fit enough! This extracurricular activity is reflected in her work interest in sport horse injuries and lameness. Away from horses Sam is a keen skier.
